# Apple Watch

> The five-second device – one question, two answers, seven words at most. Layout in points, what the watch carries, notifications and what the watch does not have.

The watch is not a small iPhone. Anything that takes longer than five seconds or needs more than one decision is wrong on it. What it can do, it does better than any other device: one question with two answers while your hands are full.

> **Open**
>
> There is no watchOS target yet (`docs/12-roadmap.md`), and the design system has no template for the watch. One screen is established (Lena, swimming, “Angekommen”) together with the rules in `docs/11-produkt.md` §2. The anatomy below reads that one screen. Further kinds of screen are proposals.

## Device and measurements

The screen is drawn for the **45 mm** watch: 198 × 242 pt (396 × 484 px, stored at twice the size in `apps/site/bilder`). The watch is always dark: surface `--schwarz`, light text.

| Measure | Value | Token |
|---|---|---|
| Margin | 14 pt | – |
| Main button | full width, 36 pt high, pill | `--akzent`, `--radius-pille` |
| Second button | full width, 26 pt high | `--radius-pille` |
| Title | Bricolage 800 | `--schrift-titel` |
| Length | seven words per line at most | whisperer register (*Flüsterer*) |

## One question, two answers

**Apple Watch · one question, two answers** · 198 × 242 pt · established

| Nr. | Region | Frame (x, y, w, h in pt) | Measure | Tokens | Components | What goes there |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | Who and when | 14, 17, 170, 14 | margin 14 pt | --person-4 | Avatar | Circle and name „Lena“ on the left, time „16:02“ on the right. |
| 2 | The thing | 14, 40, 170, 18 | | --schrift-titel | | „Schwimmen“ in Bricolage 800. One word, two at most. |
| 3 | One line of context | 14, 60, 170, 10 | | | | „Hallenbad · mit dem Rad · 16:00“. Whisperer register: seven words at most. |
| 4 | Empty middle | 14, 76, 170, 62 | | | | Stays empty so the thumb does not hit anything by accident and the answer sits within reach at the bottom. |
| 5 | Main answer | 14, 144, 170, 36 | | --akzent, --radius-pille | Knopf | „Angekommen“ (arrived) in pink with a tick. Full width. |
| 6 | Second answer | 14, 185, 170, 26 | | --radius-pille | Knopf | „Fahrt fragen“ (ask for a ride). Never more than two answers. |
| 7 | What happens next | 14, 217, 170, 10 | | --grad-klein | | „Ein Tipp — Mama und Papa sehen es sofort.“ States the consequence before the tap. |

The layout is always the same: who and when, the thing, one line of context, then the answers at the bottom. The middle stays empty. Below the buttons sits the consequence: “Ein Tipp – Mama und Papa sehen es sofort.” (One tap – Mum and Dad see it straight away.)

## What the watch carries

- **Leaving:** tap the departure reminder, and the household knows.
- **Arrived:** the child presses it themselves on arrival.
- **Ticked off:** a task, an item on the take-along list.
- **Voted:** “Nudeln oder Ofengemüse?” (pasta or roast vegetables) with one tap.
- **Dictate homework:** the fastest way of all.
- **See time left:** as a Live Activity, without opening the app.

## Notifications

Notifications on the watch and iPhone follow the whisperer register: seven words at most, the most important first.

> **Example**
>
> “16:40 · Handball, Halle Süd.” · “Abfahrt in 6 Minuten.” (leaving in 6 minutes) · “Lena ist angekommen.” (Lena has arrived)

> **Don't**
>
> “Hey Anna! Don’t forget Felix has handball at Halle Süd today at 4:40 pm!”

## Roles on the watch

| Role | What |
|---|---|
| Anna, Tobias | departure, task, vote |
| Felix (middle) | dictate homework, arrived |
| Child 13+ | like adults |
| Sofia (au pair) | confirm shift, leave |
| Lena (small), guests | no entry point (matrix III) |

> **Open**
>
> The only watch screen shows Lena (9). Matrix III gives small children no watch. With Family Setup – a child’s watch without its own iPhone – separate limits apply that must be checked when building. Decision: either the screen shows Felix, or the matrix grants “Angekommen” to small children too.

## What the watch does not have

Lists, tables, safe, vault, finances, album, yearbook, settings. No scrolling through a week, no third answer, no form.
